Where We Build In Johannesburg
Each venue is different. We design the stand for the hall you are exhibiting in. Sandton Convention Centre runs timed loading slots in the CBD, while Gallagher in Midrand offers big halls with drive-in loading.
Getting to the Sandton Convention Centre
- In the Sandton CBD
161 Maude Street, part of the Sandton City precinct, with Sandton Gautrain station within walking distance.
- Airport transfer
OR Tambo is about 14 to 15 minutes by Gautrain, or roughly 35 minutes by road depending on traffic.
- Build vehicle route
Marshalled loading via Alice Lane (Level -2) or Maude Street (Level 0). Trucks are limited to 12 m.
Getting to the Gallagher Convention Centre
- Midrand, on the R101
19 Richards Drive, roughly halfway between Johannesburg and Pretoria, with direct access from the N1.
- Airport transfer
OR Tambo is about 45 minutes by road. By Gautrain, change at Marlboro for Midrand, then take a taxi for the last stretch.
- Build vehicle route
Halls 1 and 4 load from Gallagher Avenue, Halls 2 and 3 from Richards Drive. Trucks up to 12 m.

- Stay in Midrand
The venue sits between Johannesburg and Pretoria, so Midrand hotels keep the daily commute short.
- A drive-in venue
Around 5,000 parking bays on site. Most visitors drive or use pre-booked transfers, so plan stand staffing around that.
- Book early
Hotels near the venue fill up in big show weeks. Book once your show dates are confirmed.
Regulations at the Sandton Convention Centre
- Timed loading slots
There is no holding area and drivers stay with their vehicles. Overstays have been fined R500 per 30 minutes.
- Floor loads and heights
1,500 kg/m² maximum. Ceilings are 6.5 m in Exhibition 1 and 2, and stand height limits are set per event.
- Hard deadlines
Service forms about six weeks out. Insurance, structural, rigging and fire certificates, plus covered-stand approvals, 30 days before opening.
We manage all of this for you: approvals, certificates, slot bookings and sign-offs.
Regulations at the Gallagher Convention Centre
- Height and finish
Past manuals give a 5 m maximum stand height, depending on the hall. Back walls above 2.5 m must be finished on the neighbour side.
- Rigging by the venue
Ceiling suspension is done only by Gallagher staff, and Halls 2 and 3 have limited rigging areas.
- Hard deadlines
Stand designs about 2 months before the show, contractor safety file 7 days before access, and stands dressed by 22:00 the night before opening.

What will it cost?
Every stand is costed upfront. Send the venue, the show dates and your stand size, and you’ll get an accurate cost and a design direction within 24 hours. The total is fixed, with no extras added later.
What is included?
Design, build, transport, installation and dismantling, plus the approvals and certificates the venue asks for. Furniture, AV, graphics and storage can be added to the same quote.
How far ahead should I book?
At Sandton Convention Centre, service forms are due about six weeks before opening, and insurance, certificates and covered-stand approvals 30 days before. Start 3 to 6 months out for a custom stand.
Can I reuse the stand?
Yes. A well-built custom stand can serve your show calendar for two to three years, and modular systems reconfigure for different stand sizes. We can store it between shows.
Sandton or Gallagher?
Sandton suits integrated trade shows and conferences in the CBD, with Gautrain access. Gallagher suits large shows that need big halls and easy drive-in loading. We build at both.
